Tom read Shakespeare to his new husband, while accompanied by a string quartet in an old British castle.
Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black tied the knot yesterday in a fairytale-like wedding, complete with Shakespeare and a castle.Tom Daley sung ‘Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou Romeo’ to his partner before exchanging their vows.
The pair were married in Bovey Castle in Devon, where Daley grew up, reports The Sun.
A small gathering of only 50 family and friends witnessed the ceremony, but they hired out the whole 58-room castle especially for the event.
The small ceremony took place in the castle’s beautiful Cathedral Room, accompanied by a string quartet.
A three-course meal followed, with a ‘massive cake’ personally order by Daley, according to reports.
Daley came out in December 2013 and revealed he was dating a guy; at that point, nobody knew Daley was talking about the Milk screenwriter.
On 1 October 2013, the then-21-year-old diver and his 20 years older partner announced their engagement in the back of the Times newspaper.
‘The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence,’ it read.
Fairytale ‘love at first sight’
Daley said it was ‘love at first sight‘ when he met Lance Black.
‘We were at a party and I hadn’t even spoken to him all night. I didn’t know what to do or if he was gay at first,’ Daley revealed, in an interview with Jonathan Ross.
Daley said: ‘I typed “call me” in his notes with a smiley face on this phone and the next day he texted. He makes me feel safe and happy, right now I couldn’t be happier.’
‘I can’t get him out of my head all the time. I’ve never had it before where I love someone and they love me just as much,’ he said.
The couple have been together for over four years.
