A Gay Couple Love and Travel Story

We hope that we all embrace love and respect, regardless if you are Straight, Gays or Lesbians or LGBT.

How it started

I’ve always loved to travel and I have always dreamt of traveling with someone that I love. It all began 3 years ago and thanks to one Social Networking site. This is where it all started! His name is E!

A Gay Couple Love and Travel Story: http://www.lovementomen.com
We chatted online for 2 days and agreed to meet. Unfortunately he never showed up! I went home and told myself he’s not interested.

Several hours later I received a text message from him apologizing and telling me the reason why he was delayed. He asked if we can still meet but unfortunately at that time I had a scheduled flight to Jakarta and planned to stay there for 2 months. I thought that was an end to that, I could not have been more wrong.

When I came back to the Philippines, he sent me a message again insisting to visit me at my place and finally we met. Since then we have been inseparable!
Travels

We started exploring Philippines together from the famous tourist destinations from Tawi-tawi up to Appari and after that we decided to stay in Baguio for almost a year. We started planning out our first International trip together and God is good because we won 2 return tickets courtesy of AirAsia and we’ve decided to go to Singapore then proceeded to Kuala Lumpur as a couple!

I can still remember how nervous I was for him at the Immigration counter at Clark International Airport as it was his first time to travel abroad and I knew he would be quizzed, I was right the Q & A started:

Immigration Officer: Are you traveling alone?

E: NO, I’m traveling with my Boyfriend

Immigration Officer:
Where is your boyfriend?

E:
He pointed at me (Me kilig much)

Immigration Officer: Do you have a picture together?

E: (Looking at me) “Love can I borrow your phone?” then he gave the phone to the I.O. and told her just to check all the pictures.

Immigration Officer: (Smiling then cleared to travel!)

We started traveling abroad and the funny thing is we do have a couples Backpack. Same color and same size! We also have a couples cap, couples flip-flops and couples shoes!

We stayed in Kota Kinabalu for 25 days since most of my relatives are Malaysian citizens. After our stay in Kota Kinabalu, went to Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei and Siem Reap, Cambodia, which is our 2nd home. We have been based here for almost a year now. E is working as an ESL Teacher and I work from home as Virtual assistant for US and AU Firms. We are planning to explore Bali and Laos towards the end of the year.

Good News

Legalization of Same Sex Marriage in the US, UK and Ireland is something that we are excited about. It gives us all hope that Love conquers all and it’s never too late to be with your true love. We are now saving up for our next journey which is to get married in the US and stay for good in South America.

Family and Society

It was not easy for E to be with me because he came from a very religious family. His parents are preachers and they don’t tolerate homosexuality and don’t like the idea of gay relationship, due to this we’ve decided to leave the Philippines for good! We find it weird that we were never judged by our friends, co-workers and fellow travelers in fact they are always excited to see gay couples traveling together. I guess we are lucky to live in this modern world!

As an expat in Cambodia we learned a lot of things that changed our lives forever and that the most important thing is to live life to the fullest everyday and think of it as your last day. We are active with community service here and one reason why we love Siem Reap is we don’t feel different here. I guess it’s because how the society here tolerates homosexuality.

Happy travels and Love to all!
